Free online course from The University of Sheffield in HTA

weThe course, will introduce participants to what Health Technology Assessment is and cover the basic processes a new health intervention is taken through in order to be assessed and recommended for use in healthcare services across the world. The course launches on February 15 and is free for anyone to take, all you need is access to a computer with an internet connection. 2nd Southern African regional conference in HTA

HTAi Annual Meeting

The HTAi Annual Meeting this year is hosted by the Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo in collaboration with HTA agencies of Japan. From May 10-14, 2016 at the Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo. Please visit the conference website  for more details.

World Hospital congress

The 40th IHF World Hospital Congress, to be held in Durban, South Africa, has key unique features, the first being that it will be the first to be hosted on the continent of Africa. Secondly, the 2016 event will be the first edition to be hosted as an annual event. The event, to be held 30 October – 3 November 2016 in Durban South Africa, will have Addressing the Challenge of Patient-centered Care and Safety as theme.   • Joint meeting National Departments of Health, and Science and Technology
  • The CMeRC hosted a meeting with National Departments of Health (NDoH), and Science and Technology (DST) to explore future collaboration in the areas of implementation of HTA in South African public facilities in Johannesburg on 8th May 2015.

South African Medical Device Industry Association (SAMED) hosted Medical devices and IVD Regulatory workshop for medical devices in collaboration with CMeRC at Johannesburg on 2nd and 3rd December 2015.

Joint meeting with SAHTAS and WASME

The CMeRC hosted a meeting with Southern African HTA Society (SAHTAS) and World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) to explore future collaboration in the areas of Technology Transfer, Innovation and Local Production of Medical Devices at Johannesburg on 3rd December 2015.
