Global Health Innovation Accelerator (GHIA)
Global Health Innovation Accelerator (GHIA) was launched in August 2014 to coincide with National Women’s Day to drive transformative technologies to improve the health of women and children in South Africa and beyond. The South African Medical Research Council (MRC) has joined forces with PATH, an international nonprofit and leader in global health, to accelerate access to the most promising technology innovations to better serve the health needs of resource-limited communities. GHIA will accomplish this by increasing the capacity of technology developers, manufacturers, distributors, and delivery platforms in South Africa through enabling partnerships that bring the relevant expertise, funding and networks required for innovation, scale and impact.
